Already known for refusing to comply
The vehicle’s registration plate allows its owner to be identified. He has just sold the BMW to a young man who gave him a copy of his ID. And the photo of the 23-year-old boy, “short hair, light brown”, corresponds to the description given by customs officials. He is known to the courts, already convicted for refusing to comply. He was tried in his absence on Tuesday by the criminal court of Thionville, prosecuted for having opposed the injunctions of the agents.
He received a six-month suspended prison sentence and a customs fine of 1,500 euros. The court also orders the confiscation of the car.
