Cumbre Vieja: Authorize the rescue of dogs trapped in La Palma | Radio Club Tenerife

The Steering Committee of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Assistance for Volcanic Risk of the Canary Islands (PEVOLCA) of the Government of the Canary Islands has given the green light to the Aerocámaras company, to proceed to the rescue of the four hound dogs trapped in two empty ponds in La Palma, as has been confirmed by Cadena SER in the Canary Islands.

Meanwhile, Aerocámaras already knows the authorization of Pevolca. The Galician company has everything prepared to proceed with the rescue of the animals and they intend to meet with the corresponding authorities to explain the device to them. The first reaction they have had, through a video posted on social networks, they acknowledge being very happy and confirm that “vWe love to do everything in our power. “

It so happens that the company’s engineers are already on La Palma. They are specialists in the use of cargo drones, capable of transporting up to 20 kg. Since they contacted the animal platform Leales.org, they began to work on the design of a system that would allow them to remove the animals from where they are now and that are being fed thanks to drones.

On the way to La Palma, the engineers tested the network system on the ship leaving from the Port of Los Cristianos (Tenerife) and it was found that it is capable of lifting an adult. The mechanism works as follows: when the drone goes up, the rods go down and the dog is trapped, with no possibility of getting out. In case of a problem, it has a system to unhook it. The engineers carry three nets, in case one is caught or must be released.
