Cult Group Drill & The Club of Gore: A Journey into Doom Jazz

Founded in Cologne in 1992 by Torsten Benning, Robin Rodenberg, Rainer Henzeleit and Morten Gass, the collective has over time actually defined a genre that has been known for a couple of decades doom jazz.

Over the years, the group’s rare and relatively short tours have not only grown a circle of fans and concert-goers, inversely opposed to the leisurely pace of the music performed by the musicians, but have turned these concerts into a kind of pilgrimage destination. The mystery that surrounds the personalities of the members of the group, which has become a trio since 2016, and the asceticism consistently observed in the light score during concerts, has only increased the desire to use the label “cult group”, introducing future followers to the phenomenon, named Drill & The Club of Gore.

The ninth released shortly before the pandemic Drill & The Club of Gore albums Patchouli Blue is the group’s last studio effort and the first since the quartet became a trio following the departure of drummer Torsten Benning.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased Ticket paradises in the network.
