Cuba leads the list of countries with the most Covid-19 vaccinated | News

Cuba leads the list of countries with the most vaccinated against the coronavirus per 100,000 people, having vaccinated more than 50 percent of its population with at least one dose of one of its anticovid vaccines.

According to data from the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) as of September 6, 5,955,330 people have received at least one dose of the Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala vaccines.





With these figures, the Caribbean country leads the daily vaccination statistics for every 100 inhabitants, four times more than the world average, said Dr. Ileana Morales, director of Science and Technological Innovation at Minsap.





The official indicated that Cuba could reach 40 percent of the population in the next few days with three doses, while recalling that the beginning of this process in the country was on May 12.

The data on the leaders in the vaccination against the coronavirus are reflected in the site Our World in Data, of the University of Oxford.

Worldwide, the bulk of immunizations against Covid-19 are concentrated in rich countries.

For their part, those with low incomes only have 1.8 percent of their population vaccinated with at least one dose, while those with high incomes have already immunized a large part of their citizens, even thinking of a booster, added Dr. Morales. .

The Minsap official commented that by November they expect to reach 90 or 92 percent of the vaccinated population among adults and the pediatric population.

Regarding the vaccination of boys and girls, Cuba was the first country in the world to start vaccinating its child population from two years of age onwards with the Sovereign 02 vaccine.
