Havana Cuba. – As part of the Development Plan for the agricultural sector until 2030, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to expand the areas for planting rice and increase the investment process and modernization of the agro-industrial chain.

Due to the importance of cereal on the Cuban table, it is considered one of the programs with the highest volume of investments in the sector, which includes the importation and national production of a wide range of equipment.

For the development of rice, the use of aviation for planting, fertilization and application of chemical and biological products is also promoted, and the means for its irrigation are modernized.

MINAG specialists explain that despite the efforts, economic limitations hold back investments, so that grain production is still insufficient and large volumes must be imported.
