Crytek was able to announce on Wednesday that work is underway on Crysis 4. The whole 13 years after the launch of the previous game in the series.
The game was unveiled with a very short teaser video, as well as a blog posts on the developer’s web pages. Neither the trailer – as you can see at the top of the article – nor the post revealed any details about the game, but Crytek promises to share more when the time comes.
The first three Crysis games recently returned in a revamped version.

Exactly when it will be, however, is hard to say. The developer points out that the project is only in the start-up phase, and a release date is still a long way off. However, the team reports that it will spend all that time listening to the wishes and feedback from fans.
– Crytek has a proud tradition of working with our players to develop the games you want to play. Crysis is incredibly important to so many people – it is loved by players everywhere, and some of those who work in the gaming industry today do it because of the original game – so we wanted to make sure that the next feature in the series lives up to all their expectations, wrote Crytek CEO Avni Yerli.
The announcement follows the launch of the refurbishment project Crysis Remastered Trilogy. Admittedly, our reviewer was not particularly pleased with Crytek’s work on the new version, and gave Crysis Remastered only 4 out of 10 points on the grading scale.
Alan Wake will also get a sequel.
