The crucial third match of the India-Australia ODI series will be played tomorrow (22-03-2023). As both the teams have won one match each, the third ODI will decide the series winners. The match will start at 1.30 pm at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

The latest news is that India’s legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni will visit Chepok to witness the crucial match. Dhoni will meet Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli ahead of the match. Dhoni is currently in Chennai as part of a training camp for the IPL matches.

India is preparing for a very stressful match in front of their own crowd. Team India is likely to get some tricks from MS Dhoni who has faced such situations ‘coolly’. As Dhoni is more familiar with the stadium and the pitch in Chennai than anyone else, Rohit will try to ask as many things as possible from the former legendary skipper. Recently, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Dhoni inaugurated the pavilion named after former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
India won the first match after a fierce battle, but in the second match, Australia fought back with tenfold strength. Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc challenged India’s famous batting line-up in both the matches. Starc took 3 wickets in the first match and took 5 wickets in the second match.
Along with pace, accurate line, length and ability to swing the ball, Starc, a left-handed bowler, is dangerous. Starc took 3 wickets for 49 runs in 9.5 overs in the first match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and 5 wickets for 53 runs in 8 overs in the second ODI in Visakhapatnam. Starc, who was out of the team due to a finger injury, returned to the team in the Border Gavaskar Trophy against India. Although he could not contribute much in the Test series, he has been in great form in the ODI series.
India won the first ODI by 5 wickets. KL Rahul’s performance helped India. However, the Aussies responded by crushing India by 10 wickets in the second match. With the ODI World Cup set to take place in India this year, this series is equally crucial for both teams.
