Crisis in the United Right. Jarosław Gowin and Mateusz Morawiecki at the headquarters of Law and Justice

At around 5 p.m., Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki left the seat of Law and Justice at Nowogrodzka Street in Warsaw. Earlier – just after the Prime Minister’s arrival after 3 p.m. – Jarosław Gowin, president of the Agreement forming part of the United Right, left the building. Talks on the future of the government coalition have been underway for several days. On the night of Monday to Tuesday, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński met with the leader of Solidarity Poland, Zbigniew Ziobra.

There is a crisis in the United Right. It is particularly visible between PiS and Solidarna Polska. On Monday afternoon at the headquarters of Law and Justice members of the party’s leadership discussed the future of the ruling coalition. In the night from Monday to Tuesday there was a meeting between Jarosław Kaczyński and Zbigniew Ziobro.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appeared at the PiS headquarters on Nowogrodzka Street in Warsaw. He showed up there after 3 p.m. and left the building around 5 p.m.

Earlier, before 2 p.m., the chairman of the Agreement, Jarosław Gowin, arrived at Nowogrodzka Street, but – as the TVN24 reporter noted – he left the PiS headquarters shortly after the head of government appeared there.

Tension in the United RightTVN24

Crisis in the United Right

The ongoing crisis in the United Right (PiS, Solidarna Polska, Agreement) is directly related to the lack of agreement between the coalition partners as to the position on the animal protection act and the draft act on the so-called impunity of officials. The vote on the bill abolishing the responsibility of officials for actions in the state of the epidemic was taken off the agenda of parliamentary votes on 17 September.

Despite the introduction of club discipline during the parliamentary vote, 38 members of the PiS club, including all members of Solidarity Poland and two of the Agreement, voted against the law on animal protection. Fifteen other MPs from Jarosław Gowin’s party abstained. “No” votes were cast by, among others, Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski (PiS) and Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro (SP).
