Felipe Vizeu experienced a mix of emotions this Monday. In the afternoon, the Criciúma striker learned of the death of his father, Marco André Vizeu do Carmo, aged 59. Even though he was shaken, he asked to continue with the Tricolor concentration in Florianópolis and, hours later, scored a goal against Avaí in the match valid for the seventh round of the Catarinense Championship.

According to the team from the South of Santa Catarina, the number 9’s father was admitted to a hospital in Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais, and passed away – the cause of death was not disclosed. He leaves his wife Luciana and his children Felipe, Igor and Kayky.

During halftime of the match at Estádio da Ressacada, Vizeu became emotional when talking about the support he received to realize his dream of being a football player.

– I knew I needed to play, even with this very sad news. I had to help my teammates, who are also family to me. I was very sad to hear my father’s news, but I know he rested. I want to dedicate the goal to him and ask for a lot of prayers for me and my family. May this comfort our hearts. I will continue like this, fighting and shining in the fields of the world, God willing, giving him lots of joy, now looking at me from above – he said.

The striker revealed by Flamengo has been wearing the black, white and yellow shirt since last season and has played 34 matches and scored 10 goals.
