Creating Memorable Events: How Food and Music Come Together with Sigi Goufas

Sigi Goufas, Managing Director of funABC Entertainment GmbH – Linz, has been successfully working in the catering and event sector for over 35 years. Over 1000 events and winners of numerous awards at home and abroad speak for him and his professional team. In 1993 he was the organizer of the first clubbing in Upper Austria, Planet X in the “Cattle Auction Hall” in Wels. From 1994 to 1996 he ran the Tempel Club in the ÖBB training workshop in Linz. From 1995 to 1998 he operated the Tempel Club ship and thus the first clubbing on a ship in Upper Austria. The club finally moved to the old slaughterhouse in Linz from 1997 to 1999. At the turn of the millennium he opened more restaurants in Linz. In 2000, the SeptemBar was opened in Linz, as was the TAPASbar, Upper Austria’s first tapas bar. Upper Austria’s first coffee shop, the “Coffeshopcompany” on Graben, was also run by Goufas. The castle restaurant “Lambergs” in Steyr followed in 2002.

Since November 2007 he has been regularly organizing the Club Ü31 parties throughout Austria, which have since then been a nostalgic party format in the clubs of Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Dedicated to culinary delights, he was the initiator of the StreetFood Festival/Markets Linz in 2015, Wine, Beer & Food Festival 2016 and the culinary hit Gin&Food FESTIVAL. In the last two years there have been just a few 100,000 visitors to his events. As I said, his message probably reached the customer.

Since 2019 he has been running the coolest shop on Herrenstrasse in Linz, DELI + Friends.

Since 2016, Sigi Goufas, together with partner Stefan Roth from Graz, has been organizing food events throughout Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and parts of Germany with over 3 million visitors so far and no end in sight. Because eating is and remains the new celebration. In the meantime, Goufas and his team cook for around 100 catering events a year for small and large companies.

Events are allowed to polarize and trigger discussions, but they must never be one thing… BORING (Sigi Goufas)
