Craig Wright waived lawsuit against Ethereum founder

The list of unsuccessful attempts by the self-proclaimed Bitcoin creator Craig Wright to bring to court famous representatives of the cryptocurrency industry was supplemented by a failed case against Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin. This is written by Decrypt.

In a commentary to the publication, Buterin said that Wright, who pretended to be the creator of Bitcoin, refused the claim for protection of honor and dignity filed in a British court in connection with his comments during the Deconomy conference in Seoul in April 2018.

Then, turning to the panel discussion participants, Buterin threw at Wright: “Why was this fraudster allowed to speak at the conference?”

Buterin became one of Wright’s many critics who not only deliberated on his allegations of involvement in the creation of Bitcoin, but also explicitly called him a “fraudster”.

However, the Australian, generously sponsored by the odious entrepreneur and owner of Coingeek Calvin Eyre, did not find anything better than to file lawsuits against his critics for the protection of honor and dignity. In addition to Buterin, Blockstream CEO Adam Beck, the founder of Bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, the lead podcast for What Bitcoin Did Peter McCormack, and the popular on the Hodlonaut Twitter community, were on this list.

Wright also did not ignore Buterin’s tweet storm during a conference in which he commented on the presentation of Bitcoin Cash, conducted by an Australian entrepreneur in conjunction with Roger Ver. It is noteworthy that with the latter, Wright subsequently also found himself on opposite sides of the barricades, deciding to launch his own “original version of Bitcoin” Bitcoin SV.

“Sliver” versus “crazy scammer”: Vitalik Buterin and Craig Wright mate in a Twitter hassle

In the case of Buterin, Wright’s lawyers sent a letter urging the founder of Ethereum to renounce his words and apologize publicly. After this proposal was ignored, a lawsuit was filed against Buterin in a British court.

“He really filed a lawsuit. As far as I remember, in our case they did not continue the case, and the statute of limitations for the lawsuit has expired, “ Buterin said.

Representatives of Wright put forward another version:

“We invited Vitalik to take part in the proceedings in the UK so that he would change his slanderous statements. He exercised his right and refused to respond to our letter. He should have known, that meant that according to Section 9 of the British Defamation Act, we could not realistically call him to account. ”

Defamation (defamatory or defamatory) law was passed in the UK in 2013. Section 9, cited by Wright’s representatives, is directed against the so-called “tourism tourism” – the intentional transfer of proceedings to the courts of England and Wales from other jurisdictions, where the rights of defendants in defamation cases are better protected.

Recall that earlier this week it became known that Craig Wright withdrew the lawsuit on the protection of honor and dignity to Blockstream CEO Adam Back and fully paid his legal expenses. The lawsuit against Roger Vera, meanwhile, has no jurisdiction, the case against Hodlonaut will be considered in Norway, and so far the question remains with the lawsuit against Peter McCormack.

In addition to this, Craig Wright is the main character of the soap opera in the case of Satoshi Nakamoto owned 1.1 million BTC, the evidence of the possessions of which he should have submitted to a court in the USA until yesterday.
