However, in a conversation with actor Valery Barinov, Serebrennikov found an excuse.
“Now is such a troubled time that the behavior of each person reveals his weaknesses or strengths. What is it with Serebrennikov? It is a manifestation of weakness and cowardice to go to the West and make such a film about Tchaikovsky. The only thing I can say is that I have never been a fan of his work. I do not consider this an achievement of the theatrical art that I worship. But I can’t call him a traitor, ”said the artist.
