Covid Johnson & Johnson vaccine, green light from FDA experts

Experts from the FDA, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, voted to recommend that the agency grant authorization for emergency use to Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine. The Advisory Committee, CNN reports, voted unanimously to recommend the vaccine for people aged 18 and over. If the FDA decides in line with the recommendation, and is expected to do so quickly, the vaccine will become the third authorized for use in the United States. It will be the first one-shot vaccine, and the one that can be stored in regular refrigerators, making it easier to distribute than Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, which are gentler and require two doses.
