Johnson & Johnson has told the European Union that it has supply problems that could complicate plans to supply 55 million doses of its coronavirus vaccine in the second quarter of the year. This was reported by a European official to the Reuters agency. J & J’s vaccine, which requires only one dose, is expected to be approved on March 11 by EMA and deliveries are expected to start in April. The company had pledged to supply 200 million doses to the European Union by 2021.

Last week J&J told the EU that they have problems finding the components of the vaccine, which translates into difficulties in reaching 55 million doses by the end of June. According to what I reported from the EU source, the objective would not be “impossible” for J&J, but caution is needed.
