China records COVID deaths more than a year after last
China has detected 2,228 new positives for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, 2,157 of them by local contagion and the rest, imported.
The figure is slightly lower than that notified the day before and also that of last Tuesday, when the Asian country registered 3,507 casesthe highest number since the first half of 2020.
The health authorities also informed today of the appearance of 1,823 asymptomatic cases1,713 of them local, although they are not counted as confirmed cases unless they show symptoms.
According to the institution’s accounts, since the beginning of the pandemic they have been infected 128,462 people in the country and 4,638 died.
China has registered this Saturday its first two COVID-19 deaths in more than a year. Since last January 26, 2021, no deaths have been reported. deaths have occurred in the northeastern province of Jilin, the hardest hit by this wave that has caused the confinement of millions in various cities.
