“Omicron, with its unprecedented degree of transmissibility, will eventually find everyone.” It is the prediction of Anthony Fauci, the American infectious disease expert and Joe Biden’s Covid advisor. According to Biden, the vaccinated will be “exposed to the virus” and some “perhaps many of them will be infected” but, with some exceptions, “they will get along reasonably in the sense that they will not need hospitalization and avoid death”.
Different speech, however, for the unvaccinated who will pay a higher price. “Unfortunately those who have not yet been vaccinated they will bear the brunt and the grave side of it all. Although it is less severe on a case-by-case basis, when you have so many people who are infected a small portion of them will become seriously ill and die. And this is why Omicron will test our healthcare system, ”explains the expert.
