COVID Colombia Report | THE UNIVERSAL

Colombia remains above 1,000 daily cases of COVID-19, reporting 1,185 positives in 24 hours on Monday and reaching 4,942,249 infections since the start of the pandemic in the country, the Ministry of Health reported.

The entity announced that the last day 29 deaths related to COVID-19 were also reported, with which the country reached 125,924 deaths from this cause. Additionally, the latest report detailed that 40,319 cases remain active and 4,781,654 people have already recovered.

This Tuesday Antioquia registers the main focus of COVID-19 infections in the country, reporting 318 new cases, followed by Bogotá (216), Valle (111), Barranquilla (109) and Atlántico (62).

Santander (44), Norte de Santander (40), Caldas (33), César (28), Cundinamarca (25), Córdoba (24), Boyacá (20), Santa Marta (18), Cauca (15), Tolima ( 13), Cartagena (12) and Guainía (12) reported less than 50 new cases.

While Bolívar (9), Meta (9), Nariño (9), Guajira (7), Magdalena (7), Arauca (6), Huila (6), Risaralda (6), Caquetá (5), Casanare (5 ), Quindío (5), Sucre (5), Putumayo (3), Amazonas (1), San Andrés (1) and Vichada (1) reported fewer than 10 infections.

As for the 29 people who died today, eight correspond to the department of Antioquia, followed by regions such as Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá and Norte de Santander, which reported three cases each. For their part, two people died from COVID-19 in the Valley on the last day, and Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Huila, Santander, Sucre and Tolima only reported one case.

This Monday in the country 29,506 COVID-19 tests were carried out, of which 20,117 were PCR and 9,389 antigen tests.
