‘Covid Art Museum’, the virtual art exhibition in times of confinement – The GO Guide!


Museums have been closed for weeks, and that makes artists look for new ways to display their creations. Three publicists from Barcelona have decided to create a virtual gallery on Instagram, the @Covidartmuseum.

Artwork like ‘La Gioconda‘, Surrounded by scrolls of toilet paper, or illustrations in which the main elements are the telecommuting, masks and hands. # ArteCOVID-19 is the initiative that joins a Covid Art Museum ’to«give visibility to all confined artists who are taking advantage of these times of isolation and reflection to create art«.

Any artist can send their coronavirus-themed works to this virtual gallery. After the quarantine, Natalia Alonso will select 10 works that will create a new online exhibition.

The exhibition already has more than 7,000 followers and 238 posts. Some of the works have a certain humor, while others have a more pessimistic vision. The galery groups paintings, videos, sculptures or graphic illustrations. With authors from very different places, the exhibition encompasses feelings and reflections that today unite us all, the health crisis.

The Covid Art Museum Its purpose is to give visibility to artists. The economic crisis that is predicted after the confinement will cause many authors to be affected. This initiative wants to be a common help, publishing and creating a set of artistic expressions about this period.

It is hoped to create a physical exposure onwards, in addition to creating a e-book in which all the works are detailed.
