The web giants have pledged to take action against disinformation regarding the Covid-19 vaccine.
The first vaccines against Covid-19 (the disease caused by infection with the Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus) are starting to arrive: thus, the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine could be authorized in Europe as of December 21, 2020.
And while many are delighted by this major advance in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic which has paralyzed the planet for a year, others are cultivating fear and false information … especially on social networks.
To fight against disinformation and fake news which could reduce the confidence of the French in these vaccines (this being already low …), the giants Facebook and Twitter have promised the greatest vigilance.

Thus, this December 3, 2020, Facebook undertook to delete “false allegations regarding Covid-19 vaccines that have been denied by public health experts“. Over the next few weeks, the group will target in particular (both Facebook and Instagram)”false claims about the safety, efficacy, ingredients or side effects of the vaccine“.
For its part, the social network Twitter announced this Wednesday, December 16, 2020 that he will “demand the withdrawal of false publications on Covid-19 vaccines from next week“People who have posted this information will have to delete their tweets before they can speak again on Twitter.
Earlier, in October 2020, the Youtube platform pledged to eliminate videos supporting conspiracy theories about Covid-19 vaccines. Reassuring statements … which must now be followed by action!
