213 cases of Covid-19 confirmed
Yesterday evening, the Regional Health Agency published its daily report concerning the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic in Dordogne. 213 cases of Covid-19 are now confirmed in the department. 33 people are currently hospitalized, including 4 in intensive care. To date, the Dordogne has deplored 13 deaths: 9 deaths were recorded at the hospital and 4 in the EHPAD.
Screenings in nursing homes
Screening continues in nursing homes in the department. By the end of last week, 451 people had already been tested: 229 members of the nursing staff and 222 residents. Among the staff, 13 cases were confirmed, including 10 asymptomatic. On the resident side, 31 people tested positive for Covid-19, including 25 asymptomatic. These tests were carried out in 3 of the 67 nursing homes in the department.
ARS recommendations for infant vaccination
Since the start of confinement, the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) has observed a significant drop in vaccination. In its press release, the ARS recalls that “it remains essential to continue vaccinating infants during the Covid-19 epidemic, despite the containment measures.” The Regional Health Agency explains that compulsory vaccines “effectively and durably protect against infectious diseases that are sometimes serious or fatal. Also, any delay in vaccination puts the child at risk.”
