COVID-19: these are the new measures for Mendoza: Press Government of Mendoza


The regulations will be published tonight in the Official bulletin and it will take effect from this Monday, May 3. Activities in game rooms and casinos are suspended, as are family and social gatherings, and fairs in public spaces. The termination of the DNI for purchases in shops and reservations in restaurants comes into effect again.

Through Decree 555, which will be published tonight in the Official bulletin, Governor Rodolfo Suarez establishes new sanitary measures for Mendoza. They will begin to apply throughout the province, regardless of the epidemiological risk qualification established by the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) published by the National Government.

In this way, the established measures come into effect from this Monday, May 3, including General Alvear and the towns of Real del Padre, Villa Atuel, Atuel Norte and Jaime Prats, from San Rafael, where Decree 540 published on last Friday and is complemented with these new measures.

The new measures

  • The health alert continues between 11:30 pm and 5:30 am, with the exception of personnel involved in tasks considered essential.
  • Presence is maintained at the Initial, Primary and Secondary educational levels.
  • At the Higher level, physical presence is proposed only for those activities of professional teaching practice and professionalizing practice that, due to their specificity and complexity, require assistance to the training environment.
  • Activities in gambling halls and casinos are suspended.
  • Sports activities, enabled in closed spaces, may continue to take place as long as adequate ventilation of the spaces is guaranteed.
  • Both sports activities in closed spaces and outdoors must be carried out without the presence of the public.
  • Family and social gatherings in private homes are suspended.
  • Purchases in shops and reservations in restaurants must be made according to the scheme by DNI termination number:
  • Monday and Wednesday: DNI ending in 1,2,3,4 or 5.
  • Tuesday and Thursday: DNI ending in 6,7,8,9 or 0.
  • Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays without restrictions.
  • Cafes, coffee shops and restaurants must operate at 50% of their capacity and with tables with a maximum of up to 6 people. Everyone will be able to apply the “pass and carry” modality and delivery.
  • Fairs in public places are suspended. Only those authorized by the mayors and with strict compliance with current health protocols may be carried out.

Likewise, the strict controls will continue to comply with the regulations in force both in the proper use of public transport, in compliance with the protocols in force in the activities enabled and in the hours allowed to circulate outside the health alert in force between 11:30 p.m. to 5.30.
