COVID-19: Targeted surveillance notice

Dr Sylvain Leduc, Director of Public Health for Bas-Saint-Laurent

The management of the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent issued a targeted watchout at the end of the day Wednesday regarding COVID-19, while a member of the Marché Richelieu Brillant du Bic staff in the Rimouski area received on May 19 a positive COVID-19 result.

Doctor Sylvain Leduc, director of public health for the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, calls on people who frequented the trade between the first and May 16 to carefully observe the appearance of symptoms such as: fever, cough, difficulties breathing and loss of smell in the past 14 days.

The epidemiological investigation is underway to trace all the significant contacts of people affected by the virus. This case is therefore added to the daily assessment of the CISSS which now stands at 45 cases on the territory.

Anyone experiencing symptoms or concerns about their health is encouraged to contact 1-877-644-4545 to schedule a screening appointment or consultation at an assessment clinic. If you need urgent care (severe symptoms), call 911.
