Data released this Saturday, in the daily epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), reveal that there are 223 Portuguese municipalities with at least three confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Lisbon (+39), Loures (+31), Amadora (+23), Vila Nova de Gaia (+16), Vila Franca de Xira (+12), and Porto (+10) are the municipalities with the greatest increase in the number infected in the last 24 hours, according to the DGS list.

According to the same document, 43 municipalities register at least one more confirmed case of Covid-19 compared to the previous day.

Lisbon occupies the top of the table with a total of 2146 infected with the new coronavirus, followed by Vila Nova de Gaia (1551), Porto (1347) and Matosinhos (1264).

Of the 223 counties with at least three confirmed cases of Covid-19, 171 did not register an increase in the number of infected people compared to the previous day and three counties have a negative variation – in this bulletin, three deaths were “removed”.

“This circumstance stems from the fact that, in the Centro region, there were three deaths, one between the ages of 50 and 59 and two between the ages of 60 and 69, which, in the codification of the cause of death, proved to be deaths caused by an infarction and two by septicemia The new deaths should be 16, but there are only 13, because three are due to this regional correction “, explained the Minister of Health, in a press conference.

Knowing that the accounting will not be relative to the total number of cases – nor will it simultaneously monitor the data reported by the municipalities – DGS chose to provide only data from SINAVE, the national epidemiological surveillance system.

Portugal registers 1,302 dead (13 more than on Friday) and 30,471 infected (271 more, which means an increase of 0.9%), due to the new coronavirus, according to the daily bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

The epidemiological situation report, with data updated until midnight on Friday, indicates that, this Saturday, there are 7,705 people recovered from Covid-19, 115 more than the previous day.

The lethality rate remains at 4.3% (16.4% over 70 years).

The number of active cases increases again, reaching 21,464. There are now 275 less infected with the new coronavirus compared to the previous day. Renascença presents daily the number of active cases of Covid-19 in Portugal, in a dashboard with all the pandemic numbers.

To calculate this indicator, the total number of deaths and recoveries was subtracted from the total accumulated cases. Contacted by Renascença, DGS has not yet provided additional clarification.
