COVID-19: practically empty vaccination centers during a 36-hour immunization day

Very little influx of public is recorded this morning at the Lima vaccination clinics during the day of 36 uninterrupted hours of immunization against COVID-19promoted this weekend by the Ministry of Health (minsa).

During the morning, a team of RPP News arrived at the vaccination centers of the Mars field (Jesus Mary), of Exposition Park (Fence of Lima) and the Videna (San Luis), finding that they were practically empty.

Paradoxically, the low number of people generated delays in service: this is because groups of at least six people must be formed to open a bottle of the anticovid vaccine.

Thus, the few people who arrived had to wait for a long time until the minimum group was formed and thus be served, our reporter indicated.

Empty North Square

Hours later, another team of RPP News arrived at the vaccination center installed in the Plaza Norte Shopping Centerin Independencia, one of the largest in Lima. The panorama was not different from that reported in other points.

Our journalist reported that when she arrived at the immunization center, she found it empty; but after a few minutes five people arrived, who were promptly attended to.

It is expected that with the passing of the hours, more public will begin to arrive at the centers of vaccinationas it happened yesterday, Saturday.

As is known, the minsa scheduled for this weekend a day of 36 uninterrupted hours of immunization to close the gap for those who have not yet received a dose or for those who have not yet completed the vaccination schedule.

In addition, the fourth doses are being inoculated in people over 70 years of age who have already served five months since their last vaccine.
