Covid-19: Nine more deaths and 328 confirmed cases in Portugal – News

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, the total number of deaths due to covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic is now 1,614 and the total number of confirmed cases is 43,897 infected.

In percentage terms, the increase in the number of deaths was 0.6%, (from 1,605 to 1,614) and the increase in the number of infected was 0.8%, (from 43,569 to 43,897).

The number of patients reported to have recovered also increased, with an additional 245 people recovering today, with a total of 29,017 cases now in this situation.

DGS registers an additional 15 hospitalizations in the last 24 hours, from 489 hospitalized patients to 504, with the number of patients in intensive care units remaining unchanged, which is currently 73.

Health authorities keep 31,457 contacts of infected people under surveillance and 1,167 people are awaiting laboratory results.

The nine deaths recorded occurred in the regions of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (six) and Alentejo (three).

Lisbon and Tagus Valley remains the region with the highest number of new cases, with 254 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, which represents an increase of 0.8%. The total number of deaths recorded in the region increased by 0.6%, to 504, with the six deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

The bulletin reiterates that there are 200 cases still to be included in the total, referring to tests performed by a laboratory that on three days this week did not register them in the system for this purpose, and their distribution is still being analyzed by the health authorities.

The distribution of total cases per municipality has not been updated today.

“This situation report does not include updating the allocation of cases to the municipalities. DGS is carrying out the verification of all data with the local and regional health authorities, which will be completed during the next few days ”, reads in today’s bulletin.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 530,000 deaths and infected more than 11.2 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
