1,345 new cases of infection with the coronavirus (Covid-19) and 642 healings have been recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.
This new assessment brings to 32,007 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 22,190 that of people fully recovered, a cure rate of 69.3%, said the coordinator of the National Operations Center. public health emergency at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The number of deaths increased to 480, with 19 new cases recorded in 24 hours, (9 in Casablanca, 5 in Tangier, 2 in Fez, 1 in Marrakech, Meknes and Al Haouz), he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 88 / 100,000 inhabitants, he said, noting that in the last 24 hours, out of 100,000 inhabitants, 4 people have been infected.
He said the 968 new cases were detected as part of the contact tracing system (72%), so far reaching some 133,707 people, of whom 20,000 are currently under medical monitoring.
On the geographical distribution side, Mr. Mrabet said that 432 cases were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat (366 in Casablanca, 44 in Settat, 11 in Mohammedia, 4 in Sidi Bennour, 2 in Nouaceur, Benslimane and El Jadida and one case in Berrechid), 354 in Marrakech-Safi (309 in Marrakech, 14 in Youssoufia, 13 in Safi, 8 in Rhamna and Essaouira and 1 in Al Haouz and El Kelâa des Sraghna), 194 in the region of Fès-Meknes ( 100 in Fès, 48 in Meknes, 33 in Sefrou, 6 in Boulmane, 4 in Taza, 2 in El Hajeb and one in Taounat), 131 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (81 in Tangier, 26 in Ouazzane, 17 in Fahs Anjara, 6 in Tetouan and one case in Mdiq-Fnideq), 101 in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (46 in Sale, 25 in Rabat, 10 in Témara, 7 in Sidi-Kacem, 6 in Kénitra and Khémisset and a in Sidi-Slimane).
The other regions having recorded new cases are Draâ-Tafilalet (49), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (40), Oriental (22), Souss-Massa (11), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (7), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2), he said.
The number of cases excluded after negative laboratory results is 21,131, for a total of 1,395,628.
Regarding active cases, Mr. Mrabet noted that 9,337 people are currently under treatment, distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2,367), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (2,202), Fès-Meknès (2,026), Marrakech -Safi (1.327), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (781), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (211), Drâa-Tafilalet (152), l’Oriental (127), Souss-Massa (57 cases), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (43 cases) Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, (35), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (9 cases).
Regarding people in critical condition, he reported 122 cases admitted to resuscitation and intensive care units, including 40 intubated people. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (44, including 27 people intubated), Marrakech-Safi (32), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (20, including 2 intubated), Fès-Meknes (12 including 7 intubated) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (11 cases including 4 intubated) and Souss-Massa (3).
