Covid-19: medical expenses not reimbursable by the CNOPS

The National Fund of Social Welfare Organizations (CNOPS) has indicated that it does not reimburse the costs of diagnostic and therapeutic services linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, whether biological analyzes, diagnostic radiological examinations and follow-up, or hospital stays and medications.

“The Covid-19 pandemic is identified as being a force majeure, in accordance with the provisions of articles 95, 268 and 269 of the Dahir relating to the code of obligations and contracts. This pandemic is also one of the diseases of an epidemic nature exempt from payment for services and benefits provided by hospitals and services under the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the order of the Minister of Health n ° 2284-05 of 4 Choual 1426 (November 7, 2005) ”, specified the CNOPS in a memorandum of which Maroc Hebdo has a copy.

For the CNOPS, Covid-19 is not among the components of the priority health program giving right to reimbursement and payment of the related care by the managing bodies, in accordance with the provisions of article 7 of law 65-00 bearing code for basic medical coverage.
