Canary Islands add another 12 deaths in the last day
The region has registered 12 deaths from coronavirus this Saturday, in such a way that the total number of deaths from covid-19 so far in the pandemic reaches 1,515 people, according to data provided by the Regional Ministry of Health. Of the deceased, seven took place in Gran Canaria, three in Tenerife, one in Fuerteventura and one in La Palma, pending validation by the General Directorate of Public Health.
As for the new positives, in the last day 872 have been reported, bringing the total number of cases in the archipelago to 270,567, of which 105,646 are active, of which 72 are admitted to the ICU (-5), 483 they remain hospitalized (-22) and 105,091 are at home. The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 249.36 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 584.39 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. By islands, Tenerife adds 382 cases with a total of 125,395 accumulated cases and 49,207 epidemiologically active cases; and Gran Canaria has 100,565 accumulated cases, 352 more than the previous day 47,172 active.
