Covid-19 in France: 131 new deaths in hospital and 12,799 cases detected in 24 hours

The epidemic rebound is confirmed day by day in France, but in proportions which are still unclear. While Europe is barricaded as a precaution in the face of a potentially more dangerous version of Covid-19 from the United Kingdom, the health authorities recorded 12,799 new positive cases this Sunday.

By way of comparison, last Sunday, we deplored 1250 fewer.

In hospital wards, the rebound is less noticeable, giving the impression of a plateau for the moment. The bed occupancy curves are thus starting to rise again very slightly this Sunday. In total, 24,961 patients (+142 compared to the previous day) are currently hospitalized following a Covid-19 infection, including 2,745 in intensive care (+27).

The health authorities have also recorded 599 new hospitalizations in the last 24 hours, including 91 in intensive care units. That is to say a very slight decrease compared to last Sunday (669 including 89).

In addition, 131 new deaths linked to Covid-19 in hospitals have been identified. It is a little less than last Sunday (150). The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 has been 60,549 in France since the start of the epidemic in March, including 41,749 in hospitals.
