Covid-19 Has Spread to Four Factories in Da Nang City

One in four factories is said to have stopped operations.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, HANOI – Virus Corona has spread to four factories in Da Nang City, Vietnam. Newspaper Lao Dong reported, four cases Corona virus found in a factory located in a different industrial area in the city.

The Ministry of Health has not included the calculation of Corona virus infection cases from factory clusters in the industrial area in Da Nang City. Newspaper Lao Dong quoting the head of the Da Nang industrial estate union report, one of four factories had stopped operations.

On Monday (3/8), Vietnam only reported one new case in Da Nang, bringing the total infection to 621 with six deaths.
Vietnam has conducted 52 thousand Corona virus tests in the last seven days.

On Saturday (1/8), the authorities stated that they planned to test 1.1 million Da Nang residents. The government has imposed lockdown in the city, including closing entertainment establishments and banning the movement of people who enter or leave.

Previously, Vietnam had reaped praise for successfully fighting the corona virus pandemic by imposing decisive steps. However, after Vietnam again relaxed social restrictions, cases of corona virus infection were found in the city of Da Nang, which is known as a tourism area. The first case was reported on July 25 and has spread to other areas in Vietnam, namely Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.

Authorities say the type of virus detected in Da Nang is more contagious and can infect 5-6 other people. Meanwhile, the previous virus transmission was between 1.8 to 2.2.
