Covid-19. Eight deaths in the region, the curfew in Côte-d’Or from Friday evening at midnight

10:58 pm This live is now over. See you tomorrow, Friday October 23, to follow the latest updates on Covid-19 in Côte-d’Or and in the region.

9:10 p.m. The 30% bar crossed in intensive care

This was the last criterion to switch an area to maximum alert: an intensive care bed occupancy rate of over 30%. This rate is now exceeded in the region since it stood this Thursday evening at 31.3%.

9:08 p.m. Incidence rate: it continues to increase in Dijon

We told you on Wednesday evening: the incidence rate (number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants) has largely exceeded the maximum alert threshold, set at 250, in the Dijon metropolitan area. It was indeed 260.3. This Thursday, this rate has once again increased dramatically. According to Public Health France, it is now 283.4 (data stopped for the week of October 13 to 19), all ages combined. For those over 65, the rate rises to 196.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. However, the maximum alert threshold for this category of people is 100 per 100,000 inhabitants.

8:55 pm Eight deaths in the region

Data from Public Health France have changed slightly over the past 24 hours in the department. Four new hospitalizations have been recorded in Côte-d’Or, for a total of 79, while there are now 16 patients treated in intensive care, two more since Wednesday evening.

Regionally, the figures are more worrying. Eight deaths are to be deplored this Thursday in hospitals: two in Saône-et-Loire, two in Haute-Saône, two in Jura, one in Doubs and one in the Territoire de Belfort. Seventeen new patients were hospitalized, for a total of 431 including 62 in intensive care.

“I respect the government’s decision”

6:50 p.m. François Rebsamen’s reaction

The mayor of Dijon (PS) and president of Dijon Métropole spoke in turn. “I may regret that we went a bit fast. I would have preferred that we waited a week, to check whether the previous measure of closing the bars at 10 p.m., and therefore almost extinguishing the lights, had affected After that, I do not have all the elements to judge the relevance of the decision, so I respect it. And I will help to ensure that it is applied. However, I would like us to be better informed of developments in criteria used to judge the seriousness of the health situation. I have the health indicators for the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region every evening. But the Dijon University Hospital is not, today, at 30% of reserved beds to cases of Covid in intensive care. We are sometimes also surprised by certain figures. When I see that the Saône-et-Loire has an incidence rate of 360/100 000 in the elderly, I wonder what is happening It is possible that there is contamination in nursing homes. This is not the same thing e than in the whole population. For the metropolis, we were a little above 250. And 220 for the department. I see that there are 600 in Paris and I continue to think that the more we test, the more we find. But it goes without saying that I respect the government’s decision. I’m just asking to be better informed. “

5:53 p.m. François Sauvadet’s reaction

The president of the departmental council reacted on Twitter to the announcement of the curfew in Côte-d’Or. “I understand the economic consequences of the curfew. The Department will stand by the families in difficulty.”

5:40 pm Who is affected by the curfew in the region?

In addition to the Côte-d’Or, the departments of Saône-et-Loire and Jura are also affected by the curfew in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

5:30 p.m. No tightening of the curfew

The possibility of an extended curfew from 7 p.m. had been raised. Finally, no tightening of the curfew was announced. “It is too early to know the effects of the curfew. Depending on the results obtained, we will reassess the device, to possibly toughen it up, with the absolute objective of saving lives and protecting the health of our fellow citizens”, stressed Prime Minister Jean Castex. “The extension of the curfew measure to many other departments is a preventive measure that I assume. The virus is accelerating, we must anticipate the implementation of these measures even more.”

A curfew not respected: what is the risk?

Offenders are liable to a fine of € 135 (increased to € 375 in the event of non-payment or non-dispute within the time limit indicated on the notice of violation), of € 200 if a repeat offense within 15 days (increased at 450 €), and a fine of 3750 € punishable by six months imprisonment if three offenses in 30 days.

5:05 p.m. The curfew in Côte-d’Or starting Friday midnight

“The situation is serious. It is serious in Europe. It is serious in France,” Prime Minister Jean Castex began during his speech. “The circulation of the virus is at an extremely high level”, with cases increasing by 41% in just one week.

From midnight, on the night of Friday to Saturday, the curfew, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., will be applied in 38 new departments, including the gold Coast, for a period of six weeks. All the departments in which the curfew is decreed are concerned.

13 h 06. François Rebsamen interviewed on France info

Faced with the active circulation of the coronavirus for several weeks now, Prime Minister Jean Castex must announce, this Thursday evening, the areas which should switch to maximum alert.

The mayor of Dijon and president of Dijon Métropole François Rebsamen said this Thursday morning on France info, having been “informed last night [mercredi, ndlr] by the prefect that the government had decided to spend the number of departments, I believe more than 30 departments, in a situation of curfew, including the Côte-d’Or “.

He said he was waiting to know if the measure will apply throughout the department of Côte-d’Or or only in the Dijon metropolis.

As a reminder, the incidence rate in the metropolitan area has largely crossed the threshold of 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (260.3 to date) all ages combined, and of 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for people over 65 ( 157.4). Thresholds synonymous with passing into the maximum alert zone.

The health situation Wednesday evening

On Wednesday evening, five deaths were to be deplored in the hospitals of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, bringing the provisional death toll to 1,134 since the start of the epidemic in the region. Still on a regional scale, 414 people are hospitalized, including 60 in intensive care. In Côte-d’Or, hospitalizations are currently 75, including 14 resuscitations.
