COVID-19 Cases on the Rise in Contra Costa County: Mask Requirement for High-Risk Healthcare Workers

COVID-19 cases are on the rise again in Contra Costa County, prompting officials to require masks for workers at high-risk healthcare facilities.

This is because according to Contra Costa Health Services CEO Anna Roth, hospital admissions have increased since July, although not significantly.

The mask wearing measure will not be applied to patients or visitors to healthcare facilities.

As for the updated vaccine intended for everyone over 6 months old who has not been vaccinated in the last 60 days, it is expected to be available soon.

“Importantly, the county is no longer running mass vaccination sites and people are encouraged to go to their regular providers, however, the county continues to offer free test kits by mail.” reported Dr. Sefanit Mekuria.
