Covid-19 Cases Appear Again at KBB, 35 Positive Residents After Visiting Sick People

BANDUNG BARAT – Another positive case of Covid-19 was found to appear in West Bandung Regency (KBB). This time, as many as 35 residents of RT 04/14 Mekarjaya Village, Cikalongwetan District, KBB, were confirmed to have been exposed to Covid-19 after visiting sick people.

The Daily Executor (Plh) of Puskesmas Cikalongwetan, Ifah Syarifah mentioned that those who were exposed to Covid-19 were known after following the rapid antigen test conducted by the Health Department through Puskesmas Cikalongwetan.

“We did a rapid antigen test initially to 61 residents and the results were positive 31. Then tested again to 44 residents and there were 4 who were positive. So in total 35 residents were positive out of 105 people tested,” he said, Thursday (17/6/2021).

So far, he said, most residents who were exposed only experienced symptoms of fever, flu, body aches, and loss of smell or anosmia. They are also only undergoing referrals to self-isolate at their respective homes.

Ifah explained that this case began when a resident was sick and was visited by neighbors and relatives. However, after visiting, a number of residents complained of coughing, flu, fever, and loss of smell. To ensure their condition, they were asked for a rapid antigen test at the puskesmas.

“The initial report was received on June 14 and then a rapid antigen test was carried out on June 16, 2021. At first, yes, it was visiting people who were sick,” he said.

It will continue to monitor residents who are self-isolating. This will be intensively carried out with village officials, RT, and RW for 14 days. If later there are patients who need special treatment, they will be immediately referred for isolation in the hospital.

“If later someone has to be referred, we will prepare a referral to a hospital. For patients in the green or yellow category, it can be at the Puskesmas because there are inpatient rooms,” he said.
