Covid 19, bronchiolitis, flu, lack of staff…, the hospital under tension has anticipated its organization for the beginning of January

While the epidemiological bulletins of Public Health France highlight an increase in contamination rates from influenza, Covid-19 and bronchiolitis, the Simone VEIL hospital center in Beauvais is experiencing strong tensions due to the increase in activity in the emergency room, with the simultaneous appearance of these three epidemics. A situation accentuated by human resource problems.

To deal with this complex epidemic context, at the request of the regional health authority, the establishment launched the white plan on December 19, 2022, like all the other hospitals in the department.

Concretely, the CHB has taken measures internally “to ensure the fluidity of the paths of patients treated in the emergency room”, details the health institution.

Therefore, the CHB specifies that a daily assessment of the situation is carried out within and within the department with a view to territorial coordination with all public and private health and medical-social structures. “Ensuring the continuity of the public service remains a priority and, as such, healthcare professionals may be called upon to strengthen themselves”.

The organization of the first two weeks of January has also been brought forward: patients whose hospitalizations or operations cannot be postponed will be taken care of within the establishment.

But to enable a better response to health needs and ensure care for all patients who need it, the hospital advises “Contact general practitioners, medical offices and on-call medical centres. Pharmacists can also advise and refer patients to the appropriate structures.»
