In that match, Courtois carried a special mission. The Belgian goalkeeper is determined to win his first Champions League medal.
Courtois had almost won it in the 2013/2014 season, while still at Atletico Madrid. At that time, he and Los Colchoneros could reach the final.
Courtois when it faced Real Madrid in the top round. Playing at the Estadio da Luz, Lisbon, Atletico lost 1-4 to Los Blancos.
Now, Courtois has crossed to Real Madrid, and will play Liverpool. The 30-year-old is determined to win it.

“But I think everyone, no matter how many Champions League titles they win, will think about winning the final for Real Madrid.”
“Liverpool also know what it’s like to play the final against Real Madrid, as they did in 2018. You know when Real Madrid played the final, they won it. This time I’m on the right side of history,” explained the player who had moved to Chelsea.
