Cédric Rullier, coach of Chambéry: “We expected a professional club. We wanted Paris, OM or OL. It’s fantastic that it is Lyon, the flagship club of the Rhône-Alpes, who are partners of our club, we could not have dreamed of anything better. It’s great ! Our goal remains to beat a professional club. This would give even more energy to our club. »
Frédéric Gueguen, GF38 assistant coach: “Plabennec, it’s not the best of draws, it’s always complicated in this type of stadium, with the fervor of the Breton crowd that we know well. I’ve already seen them play this season and it’s a team that produces game. The coach (Nicolas Cloarec, ed) is doing great things with his group, it won’t be easy. For me it is the Coupe de France match par excellence. It is a very popular club in Finistère, there will inevitably be some adversity. They went down to the National 3 last season, they are struggling to start, but the team has had several good results lately. They eliminated Vannes (N2) in the previous round, we are warned. They have experienced players, promising young players… It won’t be easy. »
Jonathan Goncalves, FC Annecy defender: “We followed the draw on a giant screen during our meal at the hotel (from Maizière-lès-Metz before moving on to Valenciennes for the next Ligue 2 matchday on Tuesday). For the little anecdote, we had played a little game between us to guess our future opponent and I had been the only one to enter Belfort. There was a little bit of everything including several Marseilles or Lenses for the fervour. We will know at the end of the game if it is a good or bad draw. Belfort is a club that we know and that we faced not too long ago. Playing is always complicated, especially over there where you have to see the playing conditions, we already know that you have to be ready for battle, be serious to hope to go through one more round and have the chance to write the club’s history. »
