Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – ‘Karma’ is now approaching Russia. The reason is that the counterattack from Ukraine has now reached Russia.

Last week, six points in the Red Bear Country were bombarded by drones from Kyiv troops, including the airfield where they destroyed a military transport plane.

Not only that, the latest attack also hit the Bryansk region on Thursday (7/9/2023). CNN International reported Russian air defense systems intercepted two drones in the southwest area of the city.

Even so, several drones fell and hit residential areas. This makes some complain and worry about the security of their country.

“I felt the glass suddenly shake, I immediately got out. What else should I do,” said one resident.

The attack was part of a series of sharp increases in the number of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, carrying out attacks from Ukraine. They have attacked Central and Southern Russia as well as the capital Moscow and Crimea in recent weeks.

“War will happen in Russia. Ukraine shows that this can make life difficult for Russia, Russia and Putin,” said emerging markets strategist at BlueBay Asset Management, Timothy Ash, commenting on this attack, quoted CNBC International.

However, analysts say the attacks will not destabilize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime unless they have a direct impact on the elite.

“All these drone strikes are forcing the Russian Defense Ministry to redistribute its limited number of defense assets further into Russia, for example, moving them from the front lines to Moscow and airfields on internationally recognized Russian territory,” Kirill Shamiev, a Russian political scientist and a visiting scholar at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

“This is especially important for limited assets like Pantsir, which is a good, strong (anti-aircraft missile) system on the front line, but now they need to bring some of those assets home.”
