In the hours of Thursday night, relatives found the body of José Miguel Amín, in an apartment in the town of Chapinero, in Bogotá. Authorities indicate that they are investigating to determine what happened.
So far the councilman’s family has not commented on these events. However, this death has aroused the solidarity of people close to the councilman, including former president Álvaro Uribe, who spoke through his Twitter account. “What sad news the death of José Miguel Amín, brother of Humberto (Papo), Councilor of the CD in Bogotá. From the heart our solidarity!”.

Along these same lines, the director of the Democratic Center, Nubia Stella Martínez, assured: “Only faith in God can be the support to resist such a deep sorrow. I heartily accompany the Amín Martelo family, especially our beloved councilor Humberto Papo Amín.”
