Corporate Relief Act (UEG) Passed by Small Chamber with Strong Support

With 28 votes to 9 and 4 abstentions, the small chamber supported the Corporate Relief Act (UEG) on Wednesday. Among other things, electronic government services for companies should be accessible via the central Easygov platform and a single account.

The law further requires the federal government to estimate the one-time and recurring costs that the regulation will incur for companies when preparing enactments. This estimate must be shown in the Federal Council’s application. They are to be compared with the benefit of the decree.

There was disagreement in the Council of States as to whether an independent testing agency should check the plausibility of the regulatory cost estimates. The majority was against and prevailed.
