Neurath, the patient shows only mild symptoms and has no fever. “He is doing well according to the circumstances,” said Neurath. All contacts were identified and tested negative for the virus. However, they would still be called every day to find out how they were doing, said Frank Neumann, head of the Erlangen Health Department.
Elderly patient became infected at meeting
The patient from Erlangen had contracted an infected person from Italy during a meeting in Munich. He was initially isolated at home and admitted to the Erlangen Clinic on Thursday.
Since the patient himself is an employee of the dermatological clinic, according to the clinical director, Heinrich Iro, there is now a shortage of staff due to preventive measures. The range of outpatient treatments is limited.
