CORONAVIRUS: The metropolis of Dijon goes on heightened alert

The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, announced it during his weekly update on Thursday, October 8. The incidence rate for people over 65 is 77. Updated with a press release from the Côte-d’Or prefecture.

Dijon was the first city mentioned by the minister. Its incidence rate in people over 65 justifies the classification in “enhanced alert zone” from Saturday October 10, 2020. That same day, another city falls into this category: Clermont-Ferrand.

In addition, Lyon, Grenoble, Lille and Saint-Etienne go into the maximum alert zone.

In Dijon, Public Health France indicates for this Thursday, October 8:
– an incidence rate of 166
– an incidence rate among people over 65 of 77
– an occupancy rate of intensive care beds of 15%

Passage of the Dijon metropolis into a reinforced alert zone

The Minister of Solidarity and Health today announced the passage of the Dijon metropolis into a heightened alert zone. This decision follows the observation of health indicators well above the alert thresholds in a context of accelerating epidemic circulation and the need to reinforce, once again, our collective vigilance to face the epidemic.

Fabien SUDRY, prefect of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, prefect of the Gold Coast, after consultation with all the elected officials concerned, will be able to present the new measures on Friday, October 9 at the end of the afternoon, territorialized, which will come into force on Saturday 10 October.

Enhanced alert zones (according to Public Service)

The enhanced alert zones concern places where the incidence rate is more than:
– 150 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over a period of 7 days;
– 50 cases per 100,000 in the elderly over a 7-day period.

The restrictions are as follows:
– gauge of gatherings set at 1,000 people;
– case-by-case ban of events of less than 1,000 people in establishments open to the public;
– ban on gatherings of more than 10 people in public space with the exception of professional gatherings, passenger transport services, establishments open to the public, funeral ceremonies, guided tours organized by persons holding a ‘a professional card and markets;
– closure of party rooms and multipurpose rooms for any festive and associative activity;
– closure of sports halls and gymnasiums (except activities of school groups, extracurricular or minors, professional and high-level athletes, continuing education, and outdoor activities);
– early closing of bars, no later than 10 p.m.
– since October 5, university classrooms or amphitheatres can only be filled to a maximum of 50% of their capacity.

The prefect can take additional measures:
– close enclosed swimming pools, after consultation with local elected officials;
– prohibit amplified music on public roads and / or in bars and restaurants;
– prohibit flea markets, garage sales and fairgrounds;
– encourage teleworking;
– strengthen controls by the labor inspectorate;
– strengthen the EHPAD protocol and hygiene and protection measures for the elderly in EHPAD and at home;
– strengthen the timing of public transport during rush hour.
