Coronavirus, the governor of Liguria: restrictions on Ventimiglia and Sanremo until 5 March

Heavy restrictions in the extreme western Liguria, in the districts of Sanremo and Ventimiglia. The West of Liguria, and in particular Ventimiglia, Sanremo and the neighboring municipalities, from Wednesday 24 February to Friday 5 March will have stronger restrictions than the orange zone, even if they will not be the red zone. This was announced by the Ligurian governor Giovanni Toti in the usual evening point on the progress of the pandemic. The decision was taken “to prevent the border area from ferrying the wave of the virus from France to Italy”. The ad hoc ordinance will be signed tomorrow morning (Tuesday 23).

In detail, thirty-one municipalities in the province of Imperia are affected by the new restrictions that will come into force tomorrow. The centers belong to the health districts of the Asl Imperiese, indicated by the Liguria Region as areas of interest where the new provisions will be in place. Seventeen in the Ventimigliese district: Airole, Apricale, Bordighera, Camporosso, Castel Vittorio, Dolceacqua, Isolabona, Olivetta S. Michele, Perinaldo, Pigna, Rocchetta Nervina, S. Biagio della Cima, Seborga, Soldano, Vallecrosia, Vallebona, Ventimiglia. Another 14 in the Sanremese district: Badalucco, Baiardo, Castellaro, Ceriana, Molini di Triora, Montalto Carpasio, Ospedaletti, Pompeiana, Riva Ligure, Sanremo, S.Stefano al Mare, Taggia, Terzorio and Triora.

The limitations provide for the closure of all schools of all levels and then, only for the Ventimigliese district, even heavier restrictions: ban on takeaways from 6pm (home deliveries only), ban on alcohol sales from 6pm, absolute ban on gathering and faculty for mayors for further restrictive measures in the urban area, ban on circulation outside the district (even if the yellow zone will arrive by chance).

Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign of the Asl1 Imperiese continues. Yesterday the V-Points of Arma di Taggia (in the station premises) and Imperia (at Palasalute) were inaugurated.
