ROME – “Overall, the general picture of the impact of SarsCov2 infection in Italy remains low critical. However, in some regional situations a number of new cases reported every week are still high although decreasing and in some parts of the country the circulation of SarsCov2 is still relevant. ” This is the summary of the weekly monitoring by the Ministry of Health and ISS for the week 1-7 June: a report useful for checking the situation in the country and reacting with new closures in the event of an emergency.
Today in Italy, according to the data of the Civil Protection bulletin, almost 400 new infections and 56 deaths in the last 24 hours. There is therefore a new progression of cases, always driven by Lombardy, where the epidemic shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, of the 393 positive swabs detected today, most are always in Lombardy, with 272 new positives (69.2% of new infections). The increase in cases is 31 cases in Piedmont, 33 in Emilia Romagna, and 27 in Lazio (22 from the San Raffaele outbreak). Even if the absolute figure is high, the ratio between identified cases and swabs on the one hand and people tested on the other is very low and remains at a minimum.

The total number of people who have contracted the virus since the outbreak has been 236305.

In the last twenty-four hours 56 people have died (yesterday there were 53 victims), reaching a total of 34223 deaths.
The healed reach 173085, for a 24-hour increase in 1747 units (yesterday 1399 people were declared healed).
The drop in the sick (i.e. currently positive people) was equal to 1640 units (1073 yesterday) while 393 new infections were detected in the last 24 hours (379 yesterday).
The relationship with the swabs made and with the cases tested
As regards the number of individuals checked, 37651 cases have been tested today (against the 80562 swabs carried out). This is a positive for every 231 people, or 0.4%.
As for the number of swabs, 80562 tests were carried out today (52530 yesterday). The ratio between swabs made and identified cases is 1 patient for every 494.2 swabs made, 0.2%.
