There had not been as few new cases detected since April 14.
In the last 24 hours, 130 deaths linked to the coronavirus have been reported in Belgium. 7,703 deaths have been reported since the start of the crisis (today’s statistics can be found here).
In Walloon Brabant, we recorded six new cases of coronavirus found, after screening test, these last 24 hours. There had not been as few new cases detected since April 14 (3 new cases had then been diagnosed in 24 hours). In total, there are 1,240 cases in the province.
The most populous municipality in Walloon Brabant, Braine-l’Alleud is the one with the most cases, with 132 proven cases. It is followed by Tubize (129) and Wavre (118). If we put the number of cases in perspective with the number of inhabitants, Rebecq is the most affected municipality with 55.8 cases per 10,000 inhabitants. It is followed by Tubize (48 cases) and Ittre (44.6).
Sciensano, the institute of public health in Belgium, identifies two hospitals in Walloon Brabant: this Thursday, 35 people were hospitalized there (they were 37 the day before). Among them, eleven were in intensive care (twelve the day before) and ten required respiratory assistance (eleven the day before). Three patients joined the covid units of the Brabant hospitals (two patients the day before) and two were authorized to leave them (four the day before).
