Coronavirus: resumption of visits to a Colomiers nursing home where an employee had tested positive for Covid-19

Barely deconfigured, they had been reconfigured in mid-May, after the discovery of a case of Covid-19 in an employee of the Ehpad where they live in Colomiers near Toulouse. The 87 residents of the Residence Emeraude Anne-Laffont were finally able to resume their activities and receive visits on May 25, after two negative test campaigns.

All tests are negative

The agent had been isolated at the first sign, during the first half of May, according to the management of the establishment. And strict confinement of residents in their rooms as well as the suspension of family visits had been decided pending the results of two screening campaigns carried out 7 days apart on all staff and residents. The first tests were negative. The results of the latter fell this weekend. They are also all negative, indicates the town hall of Colomiers.

Resumption of activities and visits

Since Monday, May 25, “the life of the establishment resumes its course with extreme vigilance aimed at guaranteeing the well-being and safety of residents and agents“, said the town hall in a press release.
Residents were able to find activities in a small group. Above all, they were able to receive visits from their families again. Very framed visits, as before this parenthesis of reconfinement: “by appointment, the resident and his family being separated by a window, the exchange takes place by phone“.
This system should be somewhat streamlined from June 8, says the town hall. Visits can then take place in the garden of the establishment and the separation will be reduced to a plexiglass wall.
