The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported this Sunday that the number of deaths from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country. This is 182 new deaths compared to 9,135 on Saturday. In addition, the entity specified that the number of infections rose to 279,419.

The first coronavirus death in Peru was reported on Thursday, March 19. This was a 78-year-old man who had high blood pressure and had been admitted to the Air Force Hospital with severe respiratory failure.

Last Friday, the Executive Branch published the norm that establishes the quarantine focused on the following regions: Arequipa, Ica, Junín, Huánuco, San Martín, Madre de Dios and Áncash.

This decree also establishes a new schedule for the curfew: from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am in Lima and other cities in almost the entire country with the exception of the seven aforementioned regions.
