Specifically, 147 people were tested on Thursday July 9 and Friday July 10 at the Henri-Frugier Accommodation Facility for the Elderly Dependent (Ehpad) in La Coquille, in Périgord vert: 91 residents and 56 staff.
These figures were provided by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Nouvelle-Aquitaine in a press release sent on the evening of Saturday July 11, a few hours after our announcement on sudouest.fr of placement of three positive residents in the Covid isolation area from the retirement home.
According to the ARS, this collective screening (nose and blood) was organized by its departmental delegation following a first case of resident positive for the coronavirus, on July 3. “This case could have been detected as part of a free round-the-clock screening operation for families and outside people, in which the director of the nursing home wanted to integrate some residents. “
In addition to the three positive cases, six residents and three employees presented a so-called “suggestive” serological test. They are not sick or contagious but their organism shows traces of a previous infection, probably the one who had hit the establishment hard in April.
The Ehpad remains open
If residents confined to the Covid zone cannot benefit from a visit, residents tested negative can continue to receive their loved ones, “outside the building, with strict application of barrier gestures”, specifies the ARS. “Hygiene measures have been reinforced at all levels: at the entrances or exits of the establishment, in the common areas with instructions for careful disinfection (grab bars, door handles, etc.), for the access to residents’ rooms with the wearing of a mask. “
With three positive cases, it is considered that the Henri-Frugier nursing home shelters an epidemic or cluster focus, according to the definition made by the ARS.
