The Defense Minister, Walter Martos, indicated that the Government trusts that in the coming weeks there will be no regrowth of cases of COVID-19 with the removal of the quarantine. However, he assured that, in case this happens, the Government will not hesitate in picking up some past restrictions such as total immobilization on Sundays or tightening the curfew.

“These measures that we are taking, such as the lifting of the quarantine or the extension of the curfew, will be evaluated, approximately, within 10 to 15 days and undoubtedly the corresponding measures will be taken. We hope that these peaks are not high. , but they are manageable peaks “, explained the minister.

In interview with RPP News, reported that the activities to be activated will be published in a few days in this third phase of economic revival. The minister pointed out that international studies reveal that contagion occurs in closed, poorly ventilated spaces and where people speak loudly. In this sense, he mentioned that in this new stage of the emergency, with the reopening of some economic activities, “we have to start working with the virus.”

He also explained that while the emergency lasts the Policeman and the Armed forces they will help the population to comply with safety regulations, mainly in public spaces such as public transport stops, markets and other places where there is a high concentration of people.

In this sense, the minister advanced, just as the president did Martín Vizcarra, the Government is developing a program for the celebration of National Holidays that conforms to the protocol of the Ministry of Health, with outdoor activities and with the participation of few authorities to minimize the risk of contagion.
