Coronavirus in Pau: 4 community agents tested positive for Covid-19

The director general of services for the City of Pau and the Agglo Pau Béarn Pyrénées François Mengin Lecreulx confirmed this at the start of the afternoon: “A person was tested for Covid + this weekend. A census of contact cases has been carried out. We have placed the agents in isolation as required by the procedure.”

In fact, it is indeed 4 agents who tested positive: two then two others on their return from vacation.

It all started last week, Thursday August 13, when, explains Jean Lacoste, third deputy from Pau in charge of culture and health, “a positive case was detected at the Town of Art and History department” installed at the Factory trams in building B. This after an attendant, “who is not one of the City’s agents” had “tested positive a week earlier”. An agent in contact, “tested negative at first, stepped back”. But, in turn, Saturday August 15, she is tested “positive”. And immediately placed “in quatorzaine”.

These are therefore two agents who have been in quarantine, one since August 13, the other since August 15.

This Monday, two agents return from vacation. Before resuming their work, “they want to be tested” tells the elected Pau. “They tested positive and are in their fortnight too.”

The whole of the cultural affairs department, located at the Tramway Factory, was then “exceptionally closed for service reasons” as a poster mentions on the site’s entrance doors.
