The Ministry of Tourism ratified today that the summer season can be carried out in the country and that, for this, various protocols developed for gastronomy, hotels and travel agencies must be applied.
This was reported by Yanina Martínez, Secretary of Tourism Promotion, when participating in the daily report issued by the health authority, who in that sense pointed out that the opening of the activity should be done with qualms so that it does not happen as in Jujuy, which “was one of the first (provinces) to open the activity and they had to back down.”
The official explained that the Ministry led by Matías Lammens has been working with the jurisdictions and with the private sector “to have a season throughout the country”.
“In order to have a summer season throughout the country – which we ratify from the Government because we are working with all the provinces through the Federal Council and with the private sector -, the important thing is to practice individual responsibility so as not to cause damage to collective responsibility, “Martínez explained.
In this sense, he highlighted the preparation of “9 homogeneous protocols” agreed upon to be applied. “from Quiaca to Antarctica” that will provide “security and confidence” in order to “move forward towards gradual openings.”
The official pointed out that the activity is one of the hardest hit globally and that the Argentine State has sought to support the companies through different initiatives that range from subsidies for tourism SMEs for a period of 6 months and the Emergency Assistance to Work and Production (ATP) program that reached 19 thousand companies of the sector and 211 thousand workers.
He was also optimistic about a bill that awaits sanction in the Chamber of Deputies for the reactivation of the sector.
As detailed, those who buy a tourist package during the pre-sale stage 50% of the amount paid will be refunded on a Banco Nación card that can be applied to any other tourist service during 2021.
